About Us
A small circle of friends who love books, and read them together.
We started the Syndicate of the Crumbled Page for the simplest reason there is: we love reading, and reading is better shared. Great books deserve to be talked about — argued over, quoted back, pressed into someone else's hands — and that is what we gather to do.
We take literature seriously and ourselves a little less so. Every book gets our full attention and an honest verdict; the point is never to be harsh, only to be true to what the reading actually felt like. Here is what we believe.

We Read for Love
This is not homework and there are no grades. We read because a good book can change the shape of a day, and we would rather spend our evenings with one than almost anything else.

We Respect the Work
Every book — celebrated or forgotten, easy or difficult — gets read with care and discussed on its own terms. Honesty is a form of respect; so is finishing what you started.

Every Book Gets a Verdict
We each land on a single honest sentence and a rating out of five stars. Not to reduce a book, but to remember clearly how it moved us — and to have something to disagree about.

Disagreement Is a Gift
The best evenings end with someone quietly reconsidering. We are here to have our minds changed as often as to change them — and no one is ever required to agree.
